　当社は、6/15 (月) 東京都千代田区にある学士会館で開催されたISA (International Society of Automation : 国際オートメーション学会) 日本支部（略称：ISA-J）の2015年次総会記念講演会にISAの会員として出席しました。

 

　当社社長が2014年10月に米国テキサス州ヒューストン市で開催されたISAのPCSS (Process Control and Safety Symposium : プロセス制御および安全大会) に参加したことを契機に、当社はISAとお付き合いをさせて頂いております。

 

　ISA-PCSSに参加した際に撮影された右の写真は、ヒューストンのダウンタウンです。ヒューストンは、NASAで有名ですが、世界屈指の石油関連産業の都市で、プロセスオートメーション（PA）業界の大きなマーケットです。

 

　さて、ISA-Jの年次総会記念講演会は、出席会員およそ20名、初めに、これまでの1年の事業、これからの1年の計画、そして役員の選出について、会員の審議・議決が行われました。その後、「機能安全の状況と適用」というテーマで記念講演会が開かれました。「機能安全」とは電機およびオートメーション業界の用語です。機能安全に係るIEC61508および61511について、概念や実際のところが主にプレゼンされていました。最後に同じ建物内で懇親会があり、様々な企業や研究所の方々の活発な交流が行われました。

 

　このような公益団体の活動は、一企業、業界全体、そして社会全体にとって大変有益と思われます。今後とも当社はISAおよびISA-Jに関わっていきたいと思っております。

  Bezalel attended General Meeting 2015 of Japanese Branch of ISA (International Society of Automation) (the abbreviation : ISA-J) on Monday, June 15 at Gakushi-Kaikan in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, Japan.

 

  Bezalel is getting along with ISA since Bezalel's president participated in ISA-PCSS (Process Control and Safety Symposium) held in Houston, Texas in October, 2014.

 

  The right-above picture taken during ISA-PCSS shows the downtown of Houston. Although Houston is famous for NASA, it is one of the world-class petroleum cities and the huge market of the process automation industry (PA) .

 

  By the way, ISA-J General Meeting had about 20 attendees from overall Japan. First of all, the deliberation and decision on what ISA-J did for the last one year, what it plans for the coming one year, and the selection of the officers of ISA-J were made. Then, it held the memorial symposium whose theme was "The situation and application of Functional Safety." Functional safety is an electric machine and automation industries' jargon. The speakers did their presentations mainly on the concept and actual situations about IEC 61508 and 61511 relating to functional safety. And lastly, the standing buffet party was held in the same building, and active communication between people from various enterprises and laboratories were done.

 

  Bezalel thinks that the activities of public utility corporations like this are very worthwhile for one enterprise and the overall of the industry and the public society. Bezalel would like to relate to ISA and ISA-J.
